2He-Who-Is-Has-Said, Reigning-One, Hattush,
3He-Who-Is-Has-Dwelt, Compassionate, Heights,
4Timely, Gardener, My-Father-Is-He-Who-Is,
5From-the-Right-Hand, Ornament-of-He-Who-Is, Cheerfulness,
6He-Who-Is-Has-Heard, He-Who-Is-Contends, He-Who-Is-Has-Known,
7Sallai, Deep, My-Portion-Is-He-Who-Is, and He-Who-Is-Has-Known. These were the leaders of the priests and their associates in the days of He-Who-Is-Saves.
8The Joined-Ones were He-Who-Is-Saves, Built, God-Is-Before-Me, He-Who-Is-Has-Sent-Burning-Heat, Praised, and Gift-of-He-Who-Is, who, with his associates, led the songs of thanksgiving.
9Effusion-of-He-Who-Is and Afflicted, their associates, stood across from them in the services.
10He-Who-Is-Saves was the father of He-Who-Is-Raises-Up, He-Who-Is-Raises-Up was the father of My-God-Will-Restore, My-God-Will-Restore was the father of He-Who-Is-Knows,
11He-Who-Is-Knows was the father of He-Who-Is-Has-Given, and He-Who-Is-Has-Given was the father of Known.
12In the days of He-Who-Is-Raises-Up, these were the heads of the priestly families: of the family of He-Who-Is-Has-Prevailed, Stubborn-for-He-Who-Is; of He-Who-Is-Will-Rise, He-Who-Is-Gracious;
13of Help, Allied; of He-Who-Is-Has-Said, He-Who-Is-Has-Been-Gracious;
14of Malluchi, He-Who-Is-Has-Given; of He-Who-Is-Has-Grown, May-He-Add;
15of Devoted, Pleasure; of Rebellions, Helkai;
16of Timely, He-Who-Is-Remembers; of Gardener, Allied;
17of My-Father-Is-He-Who-Is, My-Remembrance; of From-the-Right-Hand and of Appointed-Time-of-He-Who-Is, Piltai;
18of Cheerfulness, Renowned; of He-Who-Is-Has-Heard, He-Who-Is-Has-Given;
19of He-Who-Is-Contends, Gift-of-He-Who-Is; of He-Who-Is-Has-Known, My-Strength;
20of Sallai, Kallai; of Deep, Crosser;
21of My-Portion-Is-He-Who-Is, He-Who-Is-Has-Considered; and of He-Who-Is-Has-Known, God-Has-Given.
22In the days of My-God-Will-Restore, He-Who-Is-Knows, He-Who-Is-Has-Been-Gracious, and Known, during the reign of Darius the Persian, the heads of the families of the Joined-Ones and priests were recorded.
23As for the descendants of Joined-One, the family heads up to the days of He-Who-Is-Has-Been-Gracious son of My-God-Will-Restore were recorded in the Book of the Chronicles.
24The leaders of the Joined-Ones were He-Who-Is-Has-Considered, He-Who-Is-Has-Sent-Burning-Heat, and He-Who-Is-Saves son of God-Is-Before-Me, along with their associates, who stood across from them to give praise and thanksgiving as one section alternated with the other, as prescribed by Beloved the man of God.
25Gift-of-He-Who-Is, Effusion-of-He-Who-Is, Servant-of-He-Who-Is, Allied, Talmon, and Insidious were gatekeepers who guarded the storerooms at the gates.
26They served in the days of He-Who-Is-Raises-Up son of He-Who-Is-Saves, the son of He-Who-Is-Righteous, and in the days of He-Who-Is-Comforts the governor and Help the priest and scribe.
27At the dedication of the wall of Foundation-of-Peace, the Joined-Ones were sought out from all their homes and brought to Foundation-of-Peace to celebrate the joyous dedication with thanksgiving and singing, accompanied by cymbals, harps, and lyres.
28The singers were also assembled from the region around Foundation-of-Peace, from the villages of the Of-Dropping-Places,
29from House-of-the-Circle, and from the fields of Hillock and Death-Is-Strong, for they had built villages for themselves around Foundation-of-Peace.
30After the priests and Joined-Ones had purified themselves, they purified the people, the gates, and the wall.
31Then I brought the leaders of Praised up on the wall, and I appointed two great thanksgiving choirs. One was to proceed along the top of the wall to the right, toward the Dung Gate.
32He-Who-Is-Has-Saved and half the leaders of Praised followed,
33along with He-Who-Is-Helps, Help, Allied,
34Praised, Son-of-the-Right-Hand, He-Who-Is-Has-Heard, He-Who-Is-Will-Rise,
35and some of the priests with trumpets, and also He-Who-Is-Remembers son of He-Who-Is-Has-Given, the son of He-Who-Is-Has-Heard, the son of Gift-of-He-Who-Is, the son of Who-Is-Like-He-Who-Is, the son of Mindful, the son of Gatherer,
36and his associates—He-Who-Is-Has-Heard, God-Has-Helped, Milalai, Rolling, Maai, God-Has-Given, Praised, and Gracious—with the musical instruments prescribed by Beloved the man of God. Help the scribe led the procession.
37At the Fountain Gate they went directly up the steps of the City of Beloved on the ascent to the wall and passed above the house of Beloved to the Water Gate on the east.
38The second thanksgiving choir proceeded to the left, and I followed it with half the people along the top of the wall, past the Tower of the Ovens to the Broad Wall,
39over the Gate of Double-Fruit, the Jeshanah Gate, the Fish Gate, the Tower of God-Has-Been-Gracious, and the Tower of the Hundred, as far as the Sheep Gate. And they stopped at the Gate of the Guard.
40The two thanksgiving choirs then stood in the house of God, as did I, along with the half of the officials accompanying me,
41as well as the priests with their trumpets—God-Will-Establish, Work-of-He-Who-Is, From-the-Right-Hand, Work-of-He-Who-Is, My-Eyes-Are-Toward-He-Who-Is, Who-Is-Like-He-Who-Is, and He-Who-Is-Remembers—
42and also Work-of-He-Who-Is, He-Who-Is-Has-Heard, My-God-Is-Help, My-Strength, He-Who-Is-Has-Been-Gracious, My-King-Is-He-Who-Is, Elam, and Help. Then the choirs sang out under the direction of He-Who-Is-Will-Shine-Forth.
43On that day they offered great sacrifices, rejoicing because God had given them great joy. The women and children also rejoiced, so that the joy of Foundation-of-Peace was heard from afar.
44And on that same day men were appointed over the rooms that housed the supplies, contributions, firstfruits, and tithes. The portions specified by the Teaching for the priests and Joined-Ones were gathered into these storerooms from the fields of the villages, because Praised rejoiced over the priests and Joined-Ones who were serving.
45They performed the service of their God and the service of purification, along with the singers and gatekeepers, as Beloved and his son Peace had prescribed.
46For long ago, in the days of Beloved and Gatherer, there were directors for the singers and for the songs of praise and thanksgiving to God.
47So in the days of Sown-in-Confusion and He-Who-Is-Comforts, all Strives-with-God contributed the daily portions for the singers and gatekeepers. They also set aside daily portions for the Joined-Ones, and the Joined-Ones set aside daily portions for the descendants of Aaron.
