Open in the reader1Then the people of Foundation-of-Peace made He-Who-Is-Has-Grasped, the youngest son of He-Who-Is-Exalted, king in his place, since the raiders who had come into the camp with the Desert-Plain-Ones had killed all the older sons. So He-Who-Is-Has-Grasped son of He-Who-Is-Exalted became king of Praised.
2He-Who-Is-Has-Grasped was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Foundation-of-Peace one year. His mother’s name was He-Who-Is-Has-Constrained, the granddaughter of Sheaf-Gatherer.
3He-Who-Is-Has-Grasped also walked in the ways of the house of Father's-Brother, for his mother was his counselor in wickedness.
4And he did evil in the sight of He-Who-Is, as the house of Father's-Brother had done, for to his destruction they were his counselors after the death of his father.
5He-Who-Is-Has-Grasped also followed their counsel and went with He-Who-Is-Exalted son of Father's-Brother king of Strives-with-God to fight against God-Has-Seen king of Highland at Heights-gilead. But the Highland-Ones wounded He-Who-Is-Exalted.
6So he returned to God-Sows to recover from the wounds they had inflicted on him at The-Height when he fought against God-Has-Seen king of Highland. Then He-Who-Is-Helps son of He-Who-Is-Exalted king of Praised went down to God-Sows to visit He-Who-Is-Exalted son of Father's-Brother, because He-Who-Is-Exalted had been wounded.
7He-Who-Is-Has-Grasped’s downfall came from God when he went to visit He-Who-Is-Exalted. When He-Who-Is-Has-Grasped arrived, he went out with He-Who-Is-Exalted to meet He-Who-Is-He son of Drawn-Out, whom He-Who-Is had anointed to destroy the house of Father's-Brother.
8So while He-Who-Is-He was executing judgment on the house of Father's-Brother, he found the rulers of Praised and the sons of He-Who-Is-Has-Grasped’s brothers who were serving He-Who-Is-Has-Grasped, and he killed them.
9Then He-Who-Is-He looked for He-Who-Is-Has-Grasped, and He-Who-Is-He’s soldiers captured him while he was hiding in Watch-Mountain. So He-Who-Is-Has-Grasped was brought to He-Who-Is-He and put to death. They buried him, for they said, “He is the grandson of He-Who-Is-Has-Judged, who sought He-Who-Is with all his heart.” So no one was left from the house of He-Who-Is-Has-Grasped with the strength to rule the kingdom.
10When He-Who-Is-Has-Constrained the mother of He-Who-Is-Has-Grasped saw that her son was dead, she proceeded to annihilate all the royal heirs of the house of Praised.
11But He-Who-Is-Has-Sworn daughter of King He-Who-Is-Exalted took He-Who-Is-Strong son of He-Who-Is-Has-Grasped and stole him away from among the sons of the king who were being murdered, and she put him and his nurse in a bedroom. Because He-Who-Is-Has-Sworn, the daughter of King He-Who-Is-Exalted and the wife of He-Who-Is-Knows the priest, was He-Who-Is-Has-Grasped’s sister, she hid He-Who-Is-Strong from He-Who-Is-Has-Constrained so that she could not kill him.
12And He-Who-Is-Has-Aided remained hidden with them in the house of God for six years while He-Who-Is-Has-Constrained ruled the land.
