Open in the reader1Additionally, Beloved and the commanders of the army set apart some of the sons of Gatherer, Faithful, and Praise-Giver to prophesy with the accompaniment of lyres, harps, and cymbals. The following is the list of the men who performed this service:
2From the sons of Gatherer: Mindful, May-He-Add, He-Who-Is-Gives, and Upright-toward-God. These sons of Gatherer were under the direction of Gatherer, who prophesied under the direction of the king.
3From the sons of Praise-Giver: He-Who-Is-Great, Zeri, He-Who-Is-Saves, Shimei, He-Who-Is-Has-Considered, and Gift-of-He-Who-Is—six in all—under the direction of their father Praise-Giver, who prophesied with the harp, giving thanks and praise to the He-Who-Is.
4From the sons of Faithful: He-Who-Is-Has-Emptied, Gift-of-He-Who-Is, My-Strength-Is-God, Captive-of-God, Heights, He-Who-Is-Gracious, Gracious, My-God-Has-Come, I-Have-Magnified, I-Have-Exalted-Help, Sitting-in-Adversity, I-Have-Spoken, He-Has-Made-Abundant, and Visions.
5All these sons of Faithful the king’s seer were given him through the promises of God to exalt him, for God had given Faithful fourteen sons and three daughters.
6All these were under the direction of their fathers for the music of the house of He-Who-Is with cymbals, harps, and lyres, for the service of the house of God. Gatherer, Praise-Giver, and Faithful were under the direction of the king.
7Together with their relatives, who were all trained and skillful in the songs of He-Who-Is, they numbered 288.
8They cast lots for their duties, young and old alike, teacher as well as pupil.
9The first lot, which was for Gatherer, fell to May-He-Add , his sons, and his brothers—12 in all; the second to He-Who-Is-Great, his sons , and his brothers—12 in all;
10the third to Mindful, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all;
11the fourth to Of-the-Formed, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all;
12the fifth to He-Who-Is-Gives, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all;
13the sixth to He-Who-Is-Has-Emptied, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all;
14the seventh to Jesarelah, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all;
15the eighth to He-Who-Is-Saves, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all;
16the ninth to Gift-of-He-Who-Is, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all;
17the tenth to My-Hearing, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all;
18the eleventh to God-Has-Helped, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all;
19the twelfth to He-Who-Is-Has-Considered, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all;
20the thirteenth to Returned-to-God, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all;
21the fourteenth to Gift-of-He-Who-Is, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all;
22the fifteenth to Heights, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all;
23the sixteenth to He-Who-Is-Gracious, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all;
24the seventeenth to Sitting-in-Adversity, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all;
25the eighteenth to Gracious, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all;
26the nineteenth to I-Have-Spoken, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all;
27the twentieth to My-God-Has-Come, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all;
28the twenty-first to He-Has-Made-Abundant, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all;
29the twenty-second to I-Have-Magnified, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all;
30the twenty-third to Visions, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all;
31and the twenty-fourth to I-Have-Exalted-Help, his sons, and his brothers—12 in all.
