1When Strives-with-God departed from Two-Straits, the house of Heel-Grabber from a people of foreign tongue,

2Praised became God’s sanctuary, Strives-with-God His dominion.

3The Sea observed and fled; the Descender turned back;

4the mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs.

5Why was it, O Sea, that you fled, O Descender, that you turned back,

6O mountains, that you skipped like rams, O hills, like lambs?

7Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Heel-Grabber,

8who turned the rock into a pool, the flint into a fountain of water!
