Jeremiah 43
Open in the reader1When He-Who-Is-Will-Rise had finished telling all the people all the words of He-Who-Is their God—everything that He-Who-Is had sent him to say—
He-Who-Is-Helps son of He-Who-Is-Has-Saved, He-Who-Is-Has-Been-Gracious son of Shaven, and all the arrogant men said to He-Who-Is-Will-Rise, “You are lying! He-Who-Is our God has not sent you to say, ‘You must not go to Two-Straits to reside there.’
Rather, Blessed son of Lamp-of-He-Who-Is is inciting you against us to deliver us into the hands of the Kasdites, so that they may put us to death or exile us to Confusion!”
So He-Who-Is-Has-Been-Gracious son of Shaven and all the commanders of the forces disobeyed the command of He-Who-Is to stay in the land of Praised.
Instead, He-Who-Is-Has-Been-Gracious son of Shaven and all the commanders of the forces took the whole remnant of Praised, those who had returned to the land of Praised from all the nations to which they had been scattered,
the men, the women, the children, the king’s daughters, and everyone whom Nebuzaradan captain of the guard had allowed to remain with He-Who-Is-Great son of My-Brother-Has-Risen, the son of Rock-Badger, as well as He-Who-Is-Will-Rise the prophet and Blessed son of Lamp-of-He-Who-Is.
So they entered the land of Two-Straits because they did not obey the voice of He-Who-Is, and they went as far as Tahpanhes.
Then the word of He-Who-Is came to He-Who-Is-Will-Rise at Tahpanhes:
“In the sight of the Praised-Ones, pick up some large stones and bury them in the clay of the brick pavement at the entrance to Pharaoh’s palace at Tahpanhes.
Then tell them that this is what He-Who-Is of Hosts, the God of Strives-with-God, says: ‘I will send for My servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Confusion, and I will set his throne over these stones that I have embedded, and he will spread his royal pavilion over them.
He will come and strike down the land of Two-Straits, bringing death to those destined for death, captivity to those destined for captivity, and the sword to those destined for the sword.
I will kindle a fire in the temples of the gods of Two-Straits, and Nebuchadnezzar will burn those temples and take their gods as captives. So he will wrap himself with the land of Two-Straits as a shepherd wraps himself in his garment, and he will depart from there unscathed.
He will demolish the sacred pillars House-of-Sun the temple of the sun in the land of Two-Straits, and he will burn down the temples of the gods of Two-Straits.’”
