1This is the book of the generations of Ground. In the day that God created man, He made him in His own likeness.

2Male and female He created them, and He blessed them. And in the day they were created, He called them “man.”

3When Ground was 130 years old, he had a son in his own likeness, after his own image; and he named him Granted.

4And after he had become the father of Granted, Ground lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters.

5So Ground lived a total of 930 years, and then he died.

6When Granted was 105 years old, he became the father of Mortal.

7And after he had become the father of Mortal, Granted lived 807 years and had other sons and daughters.

8So Granted lived a total of 912 years, and then he died.

9When Mortal was 90 years old, he became the father of Nest.

10And after he had become the father of Nest, Mortal lived 815 years and had other sons and daughters.

11So Mortal lived a total of 905 years, and then he died.

12When Nest was 70 years old, he became the father of Praise-of-God.

13And after he had become the father of Praise-of-God, Nest lived 840 years and had other sons and daughters.

14So Nest lived a total of 910 years, and then he died.

15When Praise-of-God was 65 years old, he became the father of Descent.

16And after he had become the father of Descent, Praise-of-God lived 830 years and had other sons and daughters.

17So Praise-of-God lived a total of 895 years, and then he died.

18When Descent was 162 years old, he became the father of Dedicated.

19And after he had become the father of Dedicated, Descent lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters.

20So Descent lived a total of 962 years, and then he died.

21When Dedicated was 65 years old, he became the father of Man-of-a-Dart.

22And after he had become the father of Man-of-a-Dart, Dedicated walked with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters.

23So Dedicated lived a total of 365 years.

24Dedicated walked with God, and then he was no more, because God had taken him away.

25When Man-of-a-Dart was 187 years old, he became the father of Lamech.

26And after he had become the father of Lamech, Man-of-a-Dart lived 782 years and had other sons and daughters.

27So Man-of-a-Dart lived a total of 969 years, and then he died.

28When Lamech was 182 years old, he had a son.

29And he named him Rest, saying, “May this one comfort us in the labor and toil of our hands caused by the ground that He-Who-Is has cursed.”

30And after he had become the father of Rest, Lamech lived 595 years and had other sons and daughters.

31So Lamech lived a total of 777 years, and then he died.

32After Rest was 500 years old, he became the father of Name, Hot, and He-Enlarges.
