Open in the reader1This is the account of Rest’s sons Name, Hot, and He-Enlarges, who also had sons after the flood.
2The sons of He-Enlarges: Completion, Magog, Media, Greece, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.
3The sons of Completion: Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.
4And the sons of Greece: Elishah, Far-Shore, Kittim, Dodanim.
5From these, the maritime peoples separated into their territories, according to their languages, by clans within their nations.
6The sons of Hot: Cush, Two-Straits, Put, and Humbled.
7The sons of Cush: Seba, Circular, Sabtah, Thunder, and Sabteca. And the sons of Thunder: Sheba and Dedan.
8Cush was the father of We-Shall-Rebel, who began to be a mighty one on the earth.
9He was a mighty hunter before He-Who-Is; so it is said, “Like We-Shall-Rebel, a mighty hunter before He-Who-Is.”
10His kingdom began in Confusion, Erech, Accad, and Calno, in the land of Shinar.
11From that land he went forth into Successful, where he built Great-City, Broad-Places-Ir, Calah,
12and Resen, which is between Great-City and the great city of Calah.
13Two-Straits was the father of Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim,
14Pathrusim, Casluhim (from whom the Philistines came), and Caphtorim.
15And Humbled was the father of Sidon his firstborn, and of the Hittites,
16the Trodden-Ones, the Mountaineers, the Girgashites,
17the Tent-Villagers, the Arkites, the Sinites,
18the Wanderings, the Zemarites, and the Fortress-Folks. Later the Humbled-One clans were scattered,
19and the borders of Humbled-One extended from Sidon toward Sojourning-Place as far as Stronghold, and then toward Sodom, Heap-of-Ruins, Red-Earth, and Gazelles, as far as Lasha.
20These are the sons of Hot according to their clans, languages, lands, and nations.
21And sons were also born to Name, the older brother of He-Enlarges; Name was the forefather of all the sons of Crosser.
22The sons of Name: Elam, Successful, Arpachshad, Lud, and Highland.
23The sons of Highland: Consultation, Dance, Gether, and Mash.
24Arpachshad was the father of Sprout, and Sprout was the father of Crosser.
25Two sons were born to Crosser: One was named Division, because in his days the earth was divided, and his brother was named He-Will-Be-Made-Small.
26And He-Will-Be-Made-Small was the father of Almodad, Drawn-Out, Settlement-of-Death, Moon,
27Hadad-Is-Exalted, Uzal, Diklah,
28Obal, My-Father-Is-God, Sheba,
29Ophir, Circular, and Howler. All these were sons of He-Will-Be-Made-Small.
30Their territory extended from Mesha to Sephar, in the eastern hill country.
31These are the sons of Name, according to their clans, languages, lands, and nations.
32All these are the clans of Rest’s sons, according to their generations and nations. From these the nations of the earth spread out after the flood.
