Open in the reader1Now at the end of the twenty years during which Peace had built the house of He-Who-Is and his own palace,
2Peace rebuilt the cities My-Brother-Is-Exalted had given him and settled children of Strives-with-God there.
3Then Peace went to Hamath-of-Zobah and captured it.
4He built Palm-City in the wilderness, in addition to all the store cities that he had built in Fortress.
5He rebuilt House-of-Hollow and Lower House-of-Hollow as fortified cities with walls, gates, and bars,
6as well as Mistress, all the store cities that belonged to Peace, and all the cities for his chariots and horses —whatever he desired to build in Foundation-of-Peace, White-Mountain, and throughout the land of his dominion.
7As for all the people who remained of the Son-of-Terrors, Mountaineers, Open-Country-Dwellers, Tent-Villagers, and Trodden-Ones (these people were not children of Strives-with-God)—
8their descendants who remained in the land, those whom the children of Strives-with-God had not destroyed—Peace conscripted these people to be forced laborers, as they are to this day.
9But Peace did not consign any of the children of Strives-with-God to slave labor, because they were his men of war, the leaders of his captains, and the commanders of his chariots and cavalry.
10They were also the chief officers for King Peace: 250 supervisors.
11Peace brought the daughter of Pharaoh up from the City of Beloved to the palace he had built for her. For he said, “My wife must not live in the house of Beloved king of Strives-with-God, because the places the Chest of He-Who-Is has entered are devoted.”
12At that time Peace offered burnt offerings to He-Who-Is on the altar of He-Who-Is he had built in front of the portico.
13He observed the daily requirement for offerings according to the commandment of Drawn-Out for Rests, New Moons, and the three annual appointed feasts—the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Weeks, and the Feast of Tabernacles.
14In keeping with the ordinances of his father Beloved, Peace appointed the divisions of the priests over their service, and the Joined-Ones for their duties to offer praise and to minister before the priests according to the daily requirement. He also appointed gatekeepers by their divisions at each gate, for this had been the command of Beloved, the man of God.
15They did not turn aside from the king’s command regarding the priests or the Joined-Ones in any matter, including that of the treasuries.
16Thus all the work of Peace was carried out, from the day the foundation was laid for the house of He-Who-Is until it was finished. So the house of He-Who-Is was completed.
17Then Peace went to Backbone-of-the-Mighty-Man and to Grove-of-Palms on the coast of Red.
18So My-Brother-Is-Exalted sent him ships captained by his servants, along with crews of experienced sailors. They went with Peace’s servants to Ophir and acquired from there 450 talents of gold, which they delivered to King Peace.
