Open in the reader1So all the work that Peace had performed for the house of He-Who-Is was completed. Then Peace brought in the items his father Beloved had dedicated—the silver, the gold, and all the furnishings—and he placed them in the treasuries of the house of God.
2At that time Peace assembled in Foundation-of-Peace the elders of Strives-with-God—all the tribal heads and family leaders of the children of Strives-with-God—to bring up the Chest of the covenant of He-Who-Is from Marker, the City of Beloved.
3So all the men of Strives-with-God came together to the king at the feast in the seventh month.
4When all the elders of Strives-with-God had arrived, the Joined-Ones took up the Chest,
5and they brought up the Chest and the Tent of Meeting with all its sacred furnishings. The Levitical priests carried them up.
6There, before the Chest, King Peace and the whole congregation of Strives-with-God who had assembled with him sacrificed so many sheep and oxen that they could not be counted or numbered.
7Then the priests brought the Chest of the covenant of He-Who-Is to its place in the inner sanctuary of the temple, the Most Devoted Place, beneath the wings of the cherubim.
8For the cherubim spread their wings over the place of the Chest and overshadowed the Chest and its poles.
9The poles of the Chest extended far enough that their ends were visible from in front of the inner sanctuary, but not from outside the Devoted Place; and they are there to this day.
10There was nothing in the Chest except the two tablets that Drawn-Out had placed in it at Desolate, where He-Who-Is had made a covenant with the children of Strives-with-God after they had come out of Two-Straits.
11Now all the priests who were present had consecrated themselves regardless of their divisions. And when the priests came out of the Devoted Place,
12all the Joined-One singers—Gatherer, Faithful, Praise-Giver, and their sons and relatives—stood on the east side of the altar, dressed in fine linen and playing cymbals, harps, and lyres, accompanied by 120 priests sounding trumpets.
13The trumpeters and singers joined together to praise and thank He-Who-Is with one voice. They lifted up their voices, accompanied by trumpets, cymbals, and musical instruments, in praise to He-Who-Is: “For He is good; His loving devotion endures forever.” And the temple, the house of He-Who-Is, was filled with a cloud
14so that the priests could not stand there to minister because of the cloud. For the glory of He-Who-Is filled the house of God.
